Phenom Acquires Plum to Add Psychometric Assessment to Its AI Hiring Platform

Deal brings behavioral science into Phenom as enterprises confront AI-fabricated candidate profiles

Phenom, the Ambler, Pennsylvania applied-AI company, announced on April 28, 2026 that it had acquired Plum, a Kitchener, Canada provider of psychometric talent assessments founded in 2012 and led by chief executive Caitlin MacGregor. Plum Role Model technology maps behavioral blueprints against more than 40,000 jobs to predict how candidates are likely to perform in a given role.

The deal is Phenom second acquisition in roughly ten weeks, following its purchase of Be Applied in February 2026, and is intended to build a full assessment stack inside Phenom agentic hiring platform. The company positioned the move against a rising tide of AI-generated resumes and fabricated work histories. Financial terms were not disclosed.
