Pearson, the London-listed learning company, was named on June 8, 2026 as a partner in the United Kingdom government AI Skills Boost initiative, a national effort to upskill 10 million workers in AI by 2030. Pearson will work with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and other partners, joining technology firms already involved such as Amazon, Google, IBM and Microsoft.
The government program offers free online courses spanning AI literacy through to data science and machine learning. Pearson said it will contribute expertise in training, skills assessment and verification to help move the effort from course participation to verified workforce readiness.
